MTE117 Basic Mill and Lathe Programming

4 Credit Hours

The students will choose appropriate order of operations, and tooling based on lessons and skills learned in previous classes, use correct Geometric Code “G” and Multifunctional code “M” known in the machine tool industry as “G and M” codes, generate setup sheets and calculate feeds and speeds for mills and lathes. They will translate the assigned blueprints into computer numerical controlled programs for turning centers and vertical machining centers. Prerequisite: MTE 110 Manual Machining
