MTE101 Foundations of Machining

2 Credit Hours

The student will learn to read Engineering drawings and identify all information contained on various mechanical drawings. The student will learn to utilize Micrometers, dial calipers, test indicators, protractors, radius gauges, plug gauges, thread gauges and all manner of measuring equipment to aid in precision manufacturing. The student will learn Mathematical techniques used in machining operations such as calculating speeds and feed for drilling, metal turning thread cutting, and Milling operations. The student will learn required maintenance at the user level of all equipment assigned to them.
