Home Health Aide

The Home Health Aide course will provide students with skills necessary to provide individualized healthcare to the sick, elderly and disabled by learning the basics principles of direct nursing care.

Program Options

The Certified Medication Aide course is two-weeks/20 hours. Students that successfully complete the course will be prepared to take the state certification exam.

Prerequisites
Students must have a current Kansas Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) certification prior to enrolling in this course.

Sondra has been a Registered Nurse since 1981 after graduating from Newman School of Nursing. She also holds an Associate of Applied Science in Healthcare Administration/Management degree from FHTC. Her experience in the healthcare field includes med/surgical unit, ICU and telemetry, charge nurse, as well as serving as Director of Nursing at a long-term care facility for 26 years. Sondra taught part-time at FHTC before becoming a full-time instructor in 2014.
