This course focuses on the safe operation of a Commercial Motor Vehicle in accordance with rules and regulations set forth by the FMCSA (Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration) and KDOL (Kansas Department of Labor). Students will demonstrate efficiency in pre-trip inspection of a tractor/trailer combination, ability to safely and effectively perform maneuvers on a close-circuit course around a variety of obstacles, and, finally, an ability to navigate a public road course to include, by not be limited to, demonstration of skill, courtesy and efficiency. No current Prerequisites but obtaining a valid and current Class A learners permit is encouraged.
